I'm starting back to school for pre-recs for med school in 3 weeks (Chemistry and Calc this semester). I'm wondering if I've even got a shot at this, and what I should do. I've always wanted to be a doctor, but I was just too young and lazy in my 20's.
I am 38 yr female
RI resident
GPA 3.71
I've done a handful of classes over the years since graduating (both grad and undergrad level) and I've aced them all. I'm doing my classes now at cc to save on the cost. I'm planning to volunteer, first at my local hospital.
Do I stand a chance? Besides math and science classes, what else do I need to do to prepare?
What schools should I look at (to make sure I've got the requirements)?
