So, just to be sure, you rely on the pt providing you with their latest MSN/EOB, just like you would with an insured pt? And, you would expect your claim to be denied if the pt had not paid their yearly deductible?

I don't know what an MSN is but the insurance companies, including Medicare, will send you and the pt an EOB. The claim is not denied. A denied claim means no one, including the pt, should pay you. The EOB will let you know what you're owed, paid, and who is responsible for paying you. You can also pre auth with payers to find out how much of the deductible will be met.

Unfortunately, I know this stuff in and out as I do my own billing. Unfortunately, if you don't know this stuff in and out, you can't survive.
