A big thank you to those who responded to my previous question. I was wondering if upon finishing RCSI/UCC/UCD/TCD how easy would it be to obtain Irish PR (permanent residency and later citizenship) ? Obviously obtaining the PR would be very beneficial to staying on and practicing in Ireland. Is it easy as a doctor ?

Thanks heaps !

I'm not exactly sure there's a strict answer to this question. However, note that quite a few North Americans DO stay on. Some of them probably have European citizenship too, but it doesn't seem to be too difficult to be able to stay as an intern anyway, and continue on. I know quite a few NA SHO's too. So in my view, it's possible.
