procedure to become a practioner?

hi felllows
i finished my mbbs course in india and now working in a private hospital.can somebady help me with the procedures as how and what to do after i come to aust.somebady told me that we can come by public health course and than sit for amc exam.what do u do after passing the exam.and how do u get to do residency,i mean how many years of internship is to be done.and how many years of residency for internal medicine.and what is the future after residency.
