Hey guys I'm from Australia and I'm contemplating working in the US. So not being a North American student I am a bit confused towards procedures required after graduation (or during the final year of uni). I know the NAVLE must be taken and a licensing exam must be taken from the state? Is this correct? Does it matter which order these are taken? Or does one need to be performed after the other? Thanks in advance for all your help :)

As far as I know, the only state with its own veterinary exam is CA. The other states rely on NAVLE to test your veterinary proficiency, with the state exam focusing on legal issues, malpractice, etc. If I were you, I would get the NAVLE out of the way and take it from there depending on where you move. Good luck...

I'm pretty sure that most states require their own board exam, or at the very least some sort of licensing paperwork, not just CA.
