Any matching strategy guys?
have 11 places, dont want to rank 1 place-cook county.
so does one list the places according to one's preferences? What's the truth inthe fact that you may want to take the program's (possible) preferences into account?
I found out that the its a10 % chance that you may match. I really hate that.

The pulmonary/cc match is the same matching system as the NRMP residency match -- the match favors the applicant.
So don't worry about how programs are going to rank you -- just rank your choices in the order of your own preference. There's really no matching strategy other than deciding the order in which you like the programs.

This is unique to foreign grads. I was mailed the day before the rank list closed by the PD asking if I would change to a different visa(a J1- which is nothing short of the curse of the devil)! I was really thrown off.
Well, I said I wont be happy, but would do it if was 'so necessary'.
I'm sure they got the idea- which also dropped me a few ranks lower.

its a geographical f*** up as my wife is going to be in NY.
but its good program, so I'm ok.
