There have been several applicants in the past with sub 3.0 GPA's that manage to get accepted. However, times have changed and competition is getting fierce.
You have to have the right mindset to apply. Have the confidence in yourself that you'll actually get accepted. A negative attitude will show in your application, your essays, and maybe even your interviews. People do get accepted with stats like yours. You may have to work harder than the applicant with a 4.0, but it's definitely possible. And as I Like Dat said, with the right LORs and the right schools, you can get in. It's just a matter of how badly do you really want it and are you willing to work for it.
