General Admissions & OTCAS Question about OTCAS

I just submitted my app to OTCAS (first timer here) and this is what it says under status:

Your application is Complete/Not Verified
Complete Date: 09/09/14

Complete date currently being verified: 08/24/14


What does complete date currently being verified mean? Thanks.

I think I might have figured out the answer to my own question.

The apps that were completed on 8/24 are currently being verified. It's a way to track how far down the list I am and how long until they will verify mine.

I also have a question about OTCAS.

When we provide three references on the system, are the references asked to complete a form AND upload a letter of recommendation that they wrote for us? The instructions in my opinion are not clear, and I just wanted to let my references know what to expect from the email.
