I've read that the speed of sound is faster in warm air than cold air, but cold air is more dense than warm air. i thought density of the medium/the medium's resistance to perturbations was correlated with a faster speed of sound. Can someone explain this discrepancy? Is sound really faster in warm air or did i reverse it?
