Definitely bad things. But not cancers.

McMaster did a study trialing the use of radiation shields as well as lead caps here: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/26253734

Its already been incorporated into clinical practice here.

Who on earth doesn't wear a pelvic shield??? I didn't even know some places didn't. As to the "No Brainer", it has taken off in the past 2 years.

Not at the place I worked at before at least, they didn't wear lead hats, use pelvic shields or have the shield guards (the plastic shields placed between the machine and the operator's side profile)
