Hi! I applied to DO schools this cycle and have not been successful yet. I know my GPA and MCAT are weak, but I would really appreciate any advice for potential improvements. Secondaries were submitted in late Aug. My committee letter was also submitted at the end of August so I wasn’t complete at most schools until Sep. I have already taken 2 gap years working full time as a CRC. Before reapplying I’m planning on retaking the MCAT, applying for SMPs, and more volunteering.
- ORM, NY
- Undergrad: cGPA 3.30 and sGPA 3.1. This includes 20 credits of post-bacc (4.0), strong upward trend
- MCAT: 1st score, 505. 2nd retake 506 (123/127/127/129). I know the retake with no improvement and 123 in C/P was probably one of my red flags.
