I have question about recertification for psychiatry boards.

I may not be able to get exam done in time to not have lapse between certifications. My hospital gives one year to get recertification done. However I was told that insurance companies may not pay for patients I see as some managed care contracts requires physician to be board certified. I am little concerned as I am in productivity it can affect my compensation significantly. However they were not sure. Anyone here has any experience with board recertification and issues with getting paid from insurance?

Thanks

I have no experience here or knowledge. However, if you have heard the above, then I would think that looking at your specific contracts with the insurance companies would be the place to start. If people get different contracts, then hearing about others won't help you with you.
