Im not sure if this is a good question but For recrystallization, I know that u need to choose a solvent that allows the solute to dissolve at high temp but become insoluble at low temp. But how do you know if the impurities will still stay soluble? How do you take that into account?

This is why the solvent should make impurities soluble at low temperatures. That way as the soln cools down, the compound of interest recrystallizes and the solvent solubilizes (not sure if this is an actual word) impurities away from the recrystallizing compound.

I think you just need to know what types of impurities you probably will have. For example, you can predict whether you will have some organic impurities or non-organic. You may also be able to predict polarity and other properties from mechanism and just knowing the reactants.
