So my finance and I are moving to Charleston to attend MUSC in May, and we're coming from California. We are trying to find an apartment to rent and apparently rental agencies are really against renting to people who haven't seen the property in person (no skype or facetime tours). I understand this reasoning, but it puts us in a big bind because we can't really afford to take a trip out there before moving there. We're also really hoping to get an apartment and not a room in a shared house. Does anyone have any experience or advice about this - not just in Charleston, but anywhere? I appreciate the help!!
