Research involed in residency

I am interested in Psychiatry and have a couple questions. I understand the intensity of the residency but how much research is expected? Or it is more "hands-on?"

Some programs require it, some dont. Depends what type of program you are at, if it is very research oriented or not. That is how it was explained to me.

I did a poster.

I did not want to go through the IRB process after helping my then IM GF go through it.

Its not that hard to find time. Then again...every second in residency feels precious.
