I am confused on whether I should re-take some classes. I took a year off from school because of an assault and a mental breakdown I had. I do have some W's on my transcripts because of the the assault and breakdown/ I did poorly in classes in the semester before I took the year off I was in the respiratory care program startng summer 2013 so did take Gross anatomy but got a D so it worries me what med schools would think. But at the time I was diagnosed with depression, PTSD and panic disorder and wasn't being treated. I will return to school as a senior should I retake some classes? Also do I mention my mental illness on my personal statement to med schools? It's just a lot writing how I was assaulted and how I still decided to go back to school after being assaulted thinking I was ok but only to have done poorly and withdrew from classes Shows a lack of proper judgement on my part. Just so you know at the time no on knew about the assault my family was not there for me.
I posted my transcript for classes below. Please any advice would be grateful.

Have you looked into your school's policy on retroactive withdrawal from school for a medical indication? It would really help if you can petition to have that quarter withdrawn.

When I withdrew I did say I was taking a medical leave of absence. They never indicating I could have that section completely cleared from my transcript

Look at your school's policies and make an appointment with administration to determine the documentation you would need to withdraw from school that quarter.

It's not the kind of thing they would volunteer. You'll need to self-advocate to make it happen. Maybe get a lawyer involved because the stakes are high. Will all the media attention on campus sexual assaults right now, if your assault falls into that category, you may have some leverage.

As to your "Should I retake" question -- Nothing proves you have overcome adversity better than a couple of years' worth of great performance. Everybody really does want you to succeed, and proving you can will help --
