Hey everyone,
Not sure if this is SDN kosher, so let me know if that's the case; I'm attending a conference in San Antonio in October and was trying to get a leg up on some legit spots to check out and stuff to do (other than mingling with psych folks). Any must see spots any of you have hit up while there?

Riverwalk and Alamo.

Be sure to go to What-a-Burger. It's delicious.

I was just in San Antonio a couple weeks ago. Boudro's has a lovely view of the Riverwalk, a killer steak selection, and a large wine list. Recommended!

Jogging on the Riverwalk in the mornings is an awesome experience, if you're a runner.

Some sections of the River walk has homeless people sleeping in protected areas after midnight and they leave by 7 am. Police monitor this area. I believe north and south the river walk go into a bike/walking/running path for ten some miles. In the main part of the River walk I believe running is restricted. Above the River walk on city sidewalks you will see runners and it seems that they will go down after passing the main River walk area to run on the trails.

You can drink alcohol outside in the Riverwalk area but it is restricted when you get several blocks away.

The Riverwalk and the Alamo; you can walk along the Riverwalk to the Almo without having to go up to the street. There's a large cathedral a few blocks from the Alamo, I believe - gorgeous architecture. there are also several old Spanish missions outside of town that are worth seeing if you're at all into history.

Some weird advice above (The Alamo? Really? Really.). Also, the weather should be perfect in October (I appreciate your need to plan 4 months in advance).

Anyway, check this out for show times. It's cool to see.
