Hello! I am finalizing my MD school list and starting to work on my DO list. However, my MD list is too long and top-heavy, so I would appreciate advice which schools to remove. Ideally I would like to apply to ~20 MD schools so I can also do ~10 DOs.

Cumulative gpa: 3.50 Science gpa: 3.34
MCAT: 508
Research: strong clinical research experience (4.5 yrs in May) with several promotions, 2 posters (first and presenting author), and potentially 1 publication (not 1st author).
Employment: I currently work at a nonprofit as a research coordinator.
Shadowing: 50 hrs in-person (PCP, ER, Neuro, & psych), 60 hrs virtually (due to covid)
Volunteering: ~320 hrs giving free English classes (president of that undergrad club), currently tutoring immigrant children twice per week (60-70 hrs come June)
Clinical: ~400hrs working in psych clinic, ~100 hrs volunteering at local hospital (will restart once program opens again)
I am also URM (Latina)

Current MD list (which should I remove?):
  • Albany
  • Chicago (Rosalind Franklin)
  • Drexel
  • Temple
  • Netter (Quinnipiac)
  • Georgetown
  • Loyola
  • NY Medical College
  • Rush
  • Tufts
  • Tulane
  • George Washington
  • Albert Einststein
  • Nova (MD)
  • St Louis
  • U Miami
  • Med College Wisconsin
  • Florida International

  • Wright State
  • Virginia Commonwealth
  • U Vermont
  • Dartmouth
  • Boston U
  • Thomas Jefferson

Where is your state of residence ? Are you fluent in Spanish ?
I currently live in Mass, but can apply to certain FL schools since I went to high school there and my parents still live there. Yes, Spanish is my first language.

You have a good list and should receive several interviews. You could add any of these schools:
TCU-UNT
Creighton
Oakland Beaumont
Wayne State
