Has anyone self studied biochem for the MCAT and found it to be doable?

If so, what resources do you recommend?

Thank you in advance for your time and help!!

Sorry to say, but I think the answer is no. I tried this since I wouldn't be taking biochem until my last year of undergrad and wanted to try and enter med school right out of undergrad. I tried studying with TPR review materials and it just didn't go well although I wasn't all that disciplined with trying to teach myself an entire subject. I got a 503 on the MCAT when I took it and then when I retook it one year later, I went up 9 points. I'd probably say that 6 of the points I gained were due to the biochem class. If you're really intent on trying this, you have to know the amino acids and their properties. There are so many questions that involve them in some way but again, I would really advise against this since components from biochem are part of both the biology and physical sciences sections.
