Please help me🤦‍♀️ These schools are equal in my head so any insight would be so amazing. I also like both of them a lot. I am so lucky to have received scholarships from both schools, making them the same exact price as one another. Therefore, price isn’t a factor.
Tennessee:
Pros
Really good clinical education
Public hospital experience
Research included in curriculum
Like Memphis a lot
Partner will be there
Pretty strong match list
Cons
Education maybe not as strong as SLU
Facilities a little outdated
Can’t get a good read on whether students enjoy going there
SLU:
Pros
Like the social justice mission
Strong match list
New facilities
Students seem happy to be there
Cons
Not sure if I want to do 1.5 yr curriculum
Not sure that I love St. Louis (hate the cold)
Private hospital experience
Not sure if there are as many research opportunities
I’m a first gen med student and this process is so new to me. TIA for any advice y’all are amazing
