Hi guys, so I start my peds rotation in a month and I'm looking ahead to what books to buy. It seems there is no real consensus on what is the best, BRS Peds, Case Files and Blueprints seem to be thrown around a lot in the old threads, but I noticed that Step-Up to Peds was published at the end of 2013, so maybe it is a better resource than those; given that Step up Med is regarded as really good for IM.

Has anyone used step up to peds and is it worth the buy?

BRS Peds + Pretest + section in FA CK and/or MTB Step 2. Oh, and UWorld.

Thanks!

I've heard BRS peds is outdated, is that true or does it still hold up?
Maybe for vaccines...but not really. Plus you can glance at CDC for the latest vaccines list.
Other than that BRS hits everything that the shelf will throw at you. Pure $$$

remember, your test is outdated too. IMO, there's no big deal in using sources 2-5 years old. Even if it's out of date, you might only get 1-2 questions that require exactly up to date material and that should be covered during your clerkship as well.
