Summer Opportunities for Medical Students 2015

It's that time of year where students are deciding what they'll be doing (or not doing) during their summers. This will most likely only apply to first years, but I figured I'd start a thread where students can share what they're doing and see if there are other SDNers doing the same thing.

I'll start. I just got offered a position at St. Jude in the Pediatric Oncology Education program. If anyone else is doing the POE, I'd love to hear.

Hopefully utilizing my nursing license one last time to do in-home infusions.

Easy money.

Submitting research proposal in a few weeks.

Best case - I get rejected and have to spend the summer on the beach and travelling.

Worst case - I get accepted and receive a fat little stipend to live in an amazing city for the summer and do a very straightforward research project.

I hung out in Newport at my Uncles place on the Narragansett Bay. I raised some serious hell that summer. My last no holds barred extended vacation until I graduated.
Remember to keep some balance in your life.

Finalizing several research proposals. I'll either get to do research on a stipend, or do research for free. Fingers crossed for the former.
