Some schools offer varying amounts of characters allowed to complete their supplemental essays. For example, Iowa's is 4500 characters while Des Moines is 1200. Both different questions but do they look for you to fill the maximum allowed characters. Or if you can get your point across in less than the maximum characters allowed okay?

I wrote as much as I could during the first draft on purpose, so that I could go through again and really cut things down to a manageable size. I set a minimum of 3000 characters for my essays, and none of them got to be 4500 but I'm ok with that- I think it's definitely a matter of what you can say in a small amount of space.
