In some resources I come across the term "tall X columnar epithelium" whereas a description of the same tissue in another resource will refer to it as just "X columnar epithelium" (the X being for ex. simple)
What's the actual significance of "tall" vs non-tall columnar epithelium?

The only thing that rings a bell in this arena for me is that I'm pretty sure the macula densa of the DCT is specifically tall, versus regular, columnar. Just taller, narrower cells. If you keep that in mind, you could possibly be more likely to spot the macula densa if they showed you an LM of the nephron.

Ok, thanks for the tip.
