Can anyone explain the book's explanation of this question to me? Is the question implying that the organic vapor did not fully displace all of the air in the flask because some of it escaped instead? Or is it saying that all of the liquid turned into vapor, but that vapor "shared" the flask with some of the original air? If that's the case, why wouldn't the same amount of it re-condense back to a liquid?

Hopefully what I'm saying makes sense... :-/
