There are nearly one in six graduates of Podiatric school who cannot obtain licensure due to a limited number of postgraduate training programs required by state laws. Because these training programs are run by the Podiatric field there is little if any data available outside of tightly held "programs," and the variation or consistency of programs is largely subjective, and speculative. I am trying to discern if these programs are based on merit, politicking, or, if they are strictly designed by individual podiatrists to meet specific private needs. This information would be helpful in understanding if there is consistency in training. As podiatrists are non ABMS 'specialists" and less than compliant regarding information it has been difficult exacting this material. It appears so far that podiatry will not allow non podiatrists a look into their protocols, selection process, and training programs. Any assistance would be appreciated.
