I'm currently studying for the OAT, but also trying to rack up some hours for shadowing.
I know being familiar with different specialties is important, so I've shadowed 5 hours for a pediatric optometrist (and shadowing every week starting next week). I also contacted an optometrist, specialized in vision therapy. Hopefully, I hear back from her soon.
What are some other specialties that you shadowed and how was it?
Which ones were interesting? I know it's probably different for every person, but I'm curious.
