Hi all, I'm looking at taking a UCBX Physics lab with Minhua Zhu. She doesn't get good reviews - does anyone have specifics? I've read that her lectures are confusing, but is it still possible to get an A if you feel comfortable with the material? Or is her grading arbitrary?

Any insights would be appreciated!

I have heard that she is a difficult instructor for lecture, but that for labs it's a different story.
The lab days are designed so you have time to finish your report in class. I have heard of students successfully completing both labs at once -- phys i in the morning and phys ii in the afternoon on Saturday. Show up, do the work, turn in the lab report, don't think about it again until the next week.
Not sure about grading itself, but I've heard good things about this approach and it's my plan for next semester.

70% participation / doing experiments, 10% quizzes (3 of them), 20% final presentation.
