Hi everyone,
So at this point I'm basically trying to decide between Berkeley and LA for my master in epidemiology (I'm a native Southern Californian so the in-state tuition is very appealing). I was just wondering if anyone had any opinions on each school and the strengths of their epi program. My gut and a review of their websites (UCLAs is sadly a bit sparse) would lead me to believe Berkeley would be stronger for such a research intensive field like epi (I've heard UCLA is stronger in community health but that's just hearsay). I'm very interested in public service, and I'd imagine due to geography Berkeley would be more conducive to a state job considering its proximity to Sacramento. Again this isn't really based on any concrete evidence, so I'm interested in what y'all have to say.
