Hi guys!

Im a currently finishing my freshman in college. My first semester I did horrible! I had a 2.0 GPA because I decided to slack off and not care about school. My second semester I tried to raise my GPA & got 2 B's & one A , but then I tanked my Biology class with a D. I have to retake that class over, and almost everyone in my class failed. I would have gotten a 2.44 GPA but since I failed it went to a 2.08 GPA. I feel like my dreams are already over. I am planning on retaking my Biology courses to get A's & also raise my GPA. I know I still have 3 more years, but I feel like since I started badly that wouldn't look good on my application for Medical School since they want you to be almost perfect or perfect. If you're a med student or in the same problem I was before, please reply & let me know what worked for you! I need help! I really want to continue my dream! Thank you!

I am not a medical student yet, but I have done very well in college. The only way I did well was I studied a TON. While many of my friends were out on Friday nights, I was stuck in the library with my Ochem book cracked open. Dedicate all you effort to getting good grades during the year. You can slack off during the Summer/breaks. Do not worry about your terrible performance. It is still early enough that you can save yourself. Figure out how to study and get it done.

Hey not everyone has a good start starting college so its ok.

Show that you have the mental capacity to handle med school but getting an upward trend from now on (only A's and minimal B's) and also, from word-of-mouth, do not create a sob story if you get an interview about how everyone in the class failed and unknowingly blame the proctor as the cause of your downfall. Address the issue, state where you could have made improvement, and prove it too.

If you are getting rocked as a bio major, switch your major that you think you would do better in. Do a post-bac afterward.

Best of luck!

You definitely need to improve here on out. But I think if you really care about it you will find a way! There were times when I thought I wouldn't be able to do it.

I studied a lot in college but not a ridiculous amount. I think time management is key and going to class and taking really good notes.

Ace everything from now on and you should be OK. Go see your school's learning specialists to find out what you problems are and how to fix them.
