I was once told that the UC systems have separate conference besides Western states for residents that they attend. Any idea what it's called or when it happens?

You'll be told, and some of them do attend Asilomar anyway.

It is called “UC Collaborative Annual Pharmacy Leadership Forum” or similar names including “UC Collab”. Some Kaiser and government residencies have their own regional conferences, instead of or in addition to presenting at Western States.
