Hello everyone,

I bought used copies of TBR Gen. Chem, Organic Chem, and Physics books (2012 editions). According to their site, they have updated the books for the new exam. I am wondering if anyone has compared the older and updated editions of the books, and have comments regarding whether there are significant improvements or adjustments to match the new exam.

Thanks!

There are a few threads that address this in more detail. The basic gist is that all of the books have an increased number of passages (from 50 per book in physics to 75, from 72 per book in general chemistry to 90, and from 54 per book in organic chemistry to 64). For the text portion, there have been some changes in physics and general chemistry to remove material no longer tested and to improve some sections. The sections are sequenced differently to match the new AAMC sequence. Some passages have been discarded from the older books. But the biggest change is the increase in the total number of passages.

Organic chemistry book 2 is now more of a biochemistry book with a majority of the examples being biology related. Book 2 is a book we are incredibly proud of and perhaps the biggest reason why students in our class have been getting some impressive B/B scores on the new exam.
