I'm an MS-1 with a growing interest in urology. Problem is, my school is H/P/F and I'm at pretty high risk for getting all passes and no honors for my first semester. Is this going to be a big deal, or is it most likely redeemable if I show improvement in semesters to come along with some good research, LOR's, etc.? Any advice would be appreciated.

A urology intern I worked with for the past two weeks nearly failed his first semester of medical school. Just do your best and you will have no regrets.

Only honored 2 of my pre-clinical classes. Decent (240-250) Step 1, honors in all clinical rotations except Ob/Gyn including sub-Is and aways, reasonable research

Applied to 34 residencies, got interviews at 31, including all top-20 programs I applied to.

Pre-clinical grades don't matter.

UPDATE: I matched at my #1 choice, a top 5 program
