Provided you are allowed to interact with the patients (ideally, with a wide variety of issues), it could be a good source of active clinical experience, but it might not be viewed as a community service, so plan to get that in elsewhere.
I volunteered at a PT clinic and was able to experience really good hands-on experience. I had the opportunity to administer different therapies to patients, and would end up having long conversations with the patients as these therapies typically last 10-30 minutes of continuous manual administration. I think it's valuable and worth it if you find the right clinic.
