I've been volunteering at a psychiatric hospital for the past 1.5 years. I didn't get to interact much with the psychiatrist on my unit and never built a strong relationship with him. However, I have a really close relationship with the clinical psychologist, and he could probably speak to my interactions with patients, my interest in medicine, my work as a volunteer, etc. I understand the norm for this type of letter would be to get it from the volunteering coordinator or a physician, but neither of them know me all that well. Would be appropriate to have the psychologist write me a letter?
