Ya know..the dudes/dudettes down in the trenches are trying to puzzle this one out..soooo a little empathy please...
For whom?Ya know..the dudes/dudettes down in the trenches are trying to puzzle this one out..soooo a little empathy please...
So what you mean is that it has worse effects than most, but in most aspects it's similar (transmission, lack vaccine/treatment, severity by age/comorbidities).Does the average virus cause:
Cytokine storm
Hypercoaguability leading to strokes and other organ damage
renal failure
cause brain damage
overwhelmed hospital systems
kill 100,00 +people ion the US in three months
No, this is NOT like every other virus. Does it have similar effects as other viruses, sure. But this is a mean MFer.

No, you are not correct. Of course most viruses share some effects, they are all viruses. That;s like saying the measles is the same as the common cold. Both viruses, Not all viruses are more virulent as age increases. A few years ago the seasonal flu was so similar to a strain that circulated 60 years ago, older people had some innate immunity so younger people got it more and had worse symptoms. So what you mean is that it has worse effects than most, but in most aspects it's similar (transmission, lack vaccine/treatment, severity by age/comorbidities).
Fair enough. No, you are not correct. Of course most viruses share some effects, they are all viruses. That;s like saying the measles is the same as the common cold. Not every virus is the same, mumps doesn't cause measles and measles doesn't cause chicken pox even though all are transmitted in basically the same manner.
Again, No. Yes it's a virus. Yes it transmits via respiratory droplets. After that, the similarities end. The flu does not cause strokes or cytokine storm or kidney failure or myocarditis. It;s not like the flu causes strokes less often, it doesn't.Fair enough.
Other than severity of illness, turns out it shares several qualities with regular coronavirus strains.
First off, the flu actually does cause a cytokine storm.Again, No. Yes it's a virus. Yes it transmits via respiratory droplets. After that, the similarities end. The flu does not cause strokes or cytokine storm or kidney failure or myocarditis. It;s not like the flu causes strokes less often, it doesn't.
Aside from that we will have to agree to disagree
