What are my chances for anesthesiology residency?

Hi all,

I've read a lot of posts on sdn but this is my first time posting. Need an honest opinion/advice as far as my chances for matching into anesthesiology residency.

DO student
Usmle step 1 : 227
Comlex level 1 : 568
Top 50% of class (night and day difference between year 1 & year 2 grades)
I'm a 3rd yr so I don't have any clinical grades yet Or step 2

1) what are my chances?
2) do I need research?
3) any DO friendly programs?

I'd say you're in good shape. My stats are pretty similar to yours and I'm sitting on 12 interviews so far from a mix of university and community programs including UW, Rush, SUNY Downstate, Albany, Cleveland Clinic, etc. I do have a lot of research so it's hard to say how much that is helping my application. Feel free to PM if you want more details.
