What MCAT score do I need for a chance

Hi everyone,

I majored in Engineering in undergrad and my GPA is 3.16. My premed GPA is 3.46. What MCAT score do I need for a shot at DO schools? Welcome all advises !!!!

You'd want something in the ~80th+ percentile range.

Are you sure? What if I got 504-508 range? Do I need to go to grad school to boost up my GPA?

I'm not sure (of course since I'm just a student), but I just gave a range. If you are in the 70-80th range, then usually you should be fine - but the better you do, the better your chances. Which is why I always say aim to do your best and if you fall short, you're still ok.

The grad school GPA won't boost your UG GPA. It's evaluated separately. The good thing about DO schools though is that you can retake courses and that will boost your GPA (unlike in MD schools where they just avg the grades).

Ok then wish me luck, I just wrote the April 23rd exam and waiting on the score to be released on May 24th.
