Hi Everyone!

I am interested in applying to medical school and wondering where to apply. I am somewhat of a non-traditional student. I did my undergraduate in communications at Howard University but did my science classes later at another university. I am wondering what are my chances and where should I apply. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!

Do you have any shadowing? That's the only potential weakness I see. Otherwise, I honestly think you will have your pick of medical schools, including top 20.

Thanks, working on getting some shadowing soon

ANY school you want to!

Start with the HBCs (including UCLA/Drew), your state school (if you don't live in DC), and include U Miami, U WV, Keck, and all the Manhattan Titans.

Would non-clinical volunteering be necessary? I got dinged for it last year (despite a good number of shadowing and clinical volunteer hours), but you have much stronger numbers... Couldn't hurt though.
This is the re-applicant subforum -- did you apply once already and fail to get an acceptance, or is this your first go?
Also, what year are you looking at? I presume you're preparing to apply next June, right?

Thanks for the response, I posted in the wrong place and did not know how to delete. It is my first application and will be applying next June
