AMCAS says it doesn't correct "Course names, titles, or numbers" after the application is submitted, but does anyone know why? What if someone has a typo in a course name?

I think it's more to avoid a ton of people submitting corrections/changes. I would guess they just leave minor ones alone and change major ones?

Then that someone looks stupid/careless in their application :p

It's not AMCAS' job to help applicants and there is no reason for them to waste their resources making changes. Also, this means that if you screwed up and want to change something on your application, you have to resubmit and go to the end of the line. Can you imagine how many more careless mistakes would start to happen if applicants didn't feel as much pressure to get everything right the first time?

Alas, AMCAS is happy to take your money and verify your c/sGPA's. They're not too worried if you misspelled a course name or mislabeled the course number; adcoms will have your transcripts in hand anyway, which they will refer to. Don't sweat it op. Good luck this cycle!

Amcas correcting a typo may make sense to you, but that typo has very little bearing, presumably, in your application.
