Why bother with Osteopathic if MD is more acceptable and marketable?

For the slim case you are not a troll. Hoping you are honestly, but many DO’s enjoy the notion of there’s less focus on one method of treatment. Also DOs and MDs are the same profession. If you want to practice primary care why does it matter? It doesn’t. Why be a CC professor and not a 4 year univ professor? The philosophies on what you and where you see yourself in your career can often vary.

why do these threads pop up every time? it's clear. everyone would choose md over do if they had that chance, but if not, you become a DO. as a do, if you;re not okay with doing family medicine, then go MD, if you're ok with primary care then who cares. the worst thing that can happen as a DO is you become a family med doc, and more family med docs means more people to fight for physician primary care vs NP and PA led primary care, and family med itself is a great lifestyle and salary balance.
