Hi

I was wondering if any of you have experience working at a chain laser center?

The following is an established company in Canada:

http://www.lasikmd.com/

They seem to always be looking for ODs (must be a turnstile).

Anyone have experience? It must not be a great job cause no one ever stays, but I wonder why it's bad.

Working in any LASIK clinic is to me, hell on earth.

As if optometry as a whole isn't mundane enough sometimes, working in a LASIK mill is even worse. You will spend your entire day answering the same 3 questions over and over again and trying to convince fussy 48 year olds that yes, they are in fact seeing well and that no, you really don't want to try an enhancement on that -0.25 or that pl-0.50x180 Rx.

Given today's current economic status, there has been a big drop in the number of patients desiring "elective surgery"

Make sure you get some sort of written contract before joining up.
