Einstein Waitlist? Anything? Bueller... Bueller

There was some movement on the favorably reviewed list a few weeks back. Are you on this list, or the waitlist? It should be picking up soon. I know of at least 3 people who decline the acceptance.

people from the 'favorably reviewed' list were accepted? I didnt hear this. When did it happen.

i called the school last monday, and was told that the committee will review the wait-list ppl at the end of this month. I'm not sure about the "favorable reviewed" list though

scotchtape got off the list. Loo for the Albert Einstein Class of 2009 thread. Good luck!

I just emailed Noreen Kerrigan about my status and she responded that I was accepted off the favorable list and that the letter was mailed out this morning.
Good luck to all still waiting and if you really want to know about your status email her. she'll respond right away.

Awesome! Will you be accepting the offer? There's a lot of Californians there, and I will be heading there also. I'm from the Bay Area. I know you're waiting for some of the California schools, as am I, so good luck on those too!

congratulations on the acceptance!

CONGRATS!!! MAZAL TOV! see you in august!! 👍 😀
good luck to everyone on the waitlist -- hang in there!

Does Kerrigan have an email other than the "admissions" one?

Got in today, knew because I was added to the "accepted mailing list". Called of course to make sure it wasn't a fluke. I was accepted off of the favorable list. Good times are rollin.

Congrats to those who got in from the waitlist. I know this must be a dumb question but I didn't know there were different classes on the AECOM waitlist. I interviewed in April, and just received a letter that said my application was favorably reviewed. Is this a ranked list? What are the different classifications and the corresponding acceptance rates/changes(odds)? AND Where/how did you get this information since I don't see it on their website.

thx

Favorably reviewed is good. They exhaust these before they get into the waitlist.

just got off the waitlist as well..........very torn btw einstein and jefferson.....the ppl at AECOM were soooo incredibly nice and geniune, but the bronx is really turning me off....plus, is there a chance of living cheaply off campus? ppl who chose AECOM, what was your deciding factor? it is higher ranked than jefferson, but i dont want numbers to affect my life 😎

Congrats Wends!! I chose AECOM because of the people. I didnt see a single unhappy med student there (even the ones in lecture, not just the tourguides). My friend, a MSI there, said she has had more fun at AECOM in one year than she did in 4 years of ugrad. They go out to the bar every Thursday and all hang out together after exams. Also, the faculty support seems top notch (they pay for 70% of your expenses if you want to study abroad during the summer) and the facilities, with all the affiliated hospitals and research institutes, is the most impressive I have seen from any school I interviewed at. Granted, I didn't interview at Jefferson, I did stay in Philly for an extended time interviewing with Drexel and Temple. Jeff is definitely in a nicer area. Bronx might not be the nicest, but it's 30 min from manhattan! And AECOM is in the nicer part of the Bronx. Come join us!!

LOL Uegis! It's awesome people like you that make decisions so hard!

Are you going to live on campus? Does everyone life on campus? I was looking at the accepted list people introducing themselves and everyone seems so interesting and fun.....aecom def has a lot of great ppl! I need to find out more about living situations to make a better decision....does everyone live on the campus apartments? Did you get a tour of them? I couldnt cause I had to catch my flight. PM me!

I chose AECOM again because of the people. The atmosphere really drew me in. They have solid research and the like as well, and the housing I actually thought was nice. Pricewise, at least. I dunno, all I can say is that it just "fit".

Also, although I'm from Irvine (Sterile, Planned Irvine) the Bronx really wasn't a suprise to me. Philly for the most part wasn't my favorite city (It and New Orleans turned me off a great deal), but differen' strokes for differen' folks I guess.

Awesome, more people from California!

you just get mad props for the thread title. well done. i will leave you to your waitlist agony now.

Wends-
im assuming you were on the favorable waitlist and not the regular one. I called up the admissions office yesterday, and the lady had told me that I had made the cut for the waitlist (I'm in the regular waitlist pool). She said there are 75 people total between both waitlist pools (favorable and regular). She also said that they would re-evaluate the waitlist in June (don't know when exactly). I figure my chances are very slim since I'm not on the favorable waitlist, but I'll still remian on there until i get that letter with rejection written all over it.

Congrats to those recently accepted. Einstein is an amazing school.

FYI, I know somebody who was admitted today from the waitlist. I have no clue but I assume she was in the "favorably reviewed" pile.

I was just accepted off the waitlist yesterday. Good luck and let me know if you've gotten an update too!

Anastasia

Ok, some bad news. I just received a letter in the mail from Einstein:

"The roster of the Class that will enter the AECOM in August, 2005 is nearing completion."

Then they go on to reject me after being on the waitlist for a few months. I knew I wasn't going to get in because I wasn't on the higher list, but for some reason it still sucks. 🙁 Anyone else get this letter? It is dated May23rd.

I'm a little confused about the whole waitlist thing...would someone mind explaining it to me. Did you get a different letter if you are on the favorably reviewed list. I just got a letter that said I'm on their waitlist. I called last Friday and was told to call back in two weeks and hopefully, they would have some good news for me. I feel as though they would say that type of thing even if they had cut me from the waitlist because what school is going to tell you that you got rejected over the phone? If they sent out rejections on the 23rd, I probably just haven't gotten mine yet.

If it gives anyone a bit of hope, I got in off the favorable review list but will be going elsewhere...if for no other reason than wanting to go to the school that accepted outright rather than off a waitlist. 😛
Good luck to whoever takes my spot

haha...I totally respect that.

well...I called today and was told that I didn't get cut, so that's good news. I wonder what my chances are of getting off the waitlist.

I just got in today... "favorably reviewed" one weeks ago...wrote e-mail and called the office....informed by a phone call...realy caught me off guard and I had no idea what to tell them...oh well...good luck to everyone 🙂

i got in today...Einstein or NYU? both are amazing places.

I am in the same boat  ...though leaning towards Einstein. We need to chat.

Does anyone know what the "primary care" ranking for med schools is based on? Einstein is higher then NYU on that. Plus the housing is no comparison.

For those of you who have gotten in off the waitlist - how long do they give you to respond?

I was told 10 days.

I noticed that on the Columbia waitlist thread, people had posted a lot of advice for how to get off the waitlist. Does anyone have any freaking idea of how to get off the AECOM waitlist? I already sent 2 LOIs.

I dunno if this got me off the waitlist but I wrote one letter of interest, and then emailed Dean kerrigan directly. She wrote back right away saying i'd hear good news very shortly.

At this point forget snail mail. Switch to phone and e-mail...I called the secretary and sent in an e-mail...I was off in a matter of days.

I sent them a letter three weeks ago. Last week I emailed an abstract of a paper that I am on and then emailed dean mcquail about my status and she never responded.

i am beginning to think this is hopeless...

sorry kerrigan... i'm on the GW waitlist also.

BUMP!!!! why are people not getting in off the waitlist? i know its the epitome of chill schools and all, but how can it be full already? has anyone else heard from kerrigan?

BUMP

So, from what I understood, they gave out another batch of acceptances last Tuesday and gave those people 10 days to respond. That means that they have to wait 10 days, see how many people accept and then meet to determine who they are going to accept next.

This is getting really freaking frustrating in the meantime.

anyone heard anything??

not me. i keep calling and they tell me no update on the status. but they did say the committee had already sent out the batch of letters notifying the people on the favorable reviewed pile they got in (i doubt all of them) but from what i gather, you have to first move from the regular waitlist to the favorably reviewed and then shortly after that you get in as the spots become available. im hoping movement will speed up as california schools get their acts together and start accepting people, and people who accepted offers here will withdraw their apps. good luck peeps.

Do they notify you if you move from waitlist to the favorably reviewed pile or is it just something that they keep to themselves? I emailed and wrote a letter two weeks ago, and am wondering if i may have been moved up to favorably reviewed from the good ole regular waitlist?

Good luck everyone, still crossing fingers for a miracle.
