i have a big poster on my fridge with a score i want...it's been there for the last 2 weeks
i am casting a spell

i will have to leave soon and prolly be back around 4CST to check for the score...i am really freaking out...but what is done is done now

I have called and spoken with an AAMC representative. This representative confirmed that while scores are set to release today there is a possibility that they will not be released today as they had received an email stating exactly what he told me. He apologized that he could not give me anymore information other than what he gave me. If scores are up, they will be up after 5pm EST.

I'm going to ask that users refrain from talking about other users (whether they were right or wrong) and please remember that posting "FALSE SCORE RELEASE" information WILL result in an automatic post-hold.

Please calm down and wish you all the best in getting your scores today. I know its been rough and nerve wracking but try not to take it out on the forums. 😉

Drshapiro has claimed this a couple of times, but apparently others have called and confirmed the release date to be today. If that guy is lying he should be flogged

I HOPE that the lady I just talked to is wrong but I just called the AAMC and they said that score release has been delayed until "sometime next week". The lady I spoke to did not know why and could not give me a definite date. Trust me - I am as mad/frustrated as anyone. I am still hoping for today and will keep checking.

Wow, they are totally screwing over the applicants! I took the test but am not a pre-med, and I feel like this is unfair for people who need to see their score to determine whether or not to retake!

I just called the AAMC also and talked to a really unhelpful man. He said that as of "this morning" the scores have been delayed, but could not give me ANY information as to when they'd be released. This is so ridiculous! 🙁

yep...that is what i was told, but there might be a delay...they still have no definite answer...that is why i was instructed to keep on checking the aamc web for scores or delay anouncements.
to everyone...i gotta run.

Maybe our scores will have a ridiculous curve. Maybe there were tons of mistakes and the AAMC is trying to adjust for all their errors, and so all of us get wonderful scores. 🙂

SDN has been a tremendous resource throughout my preparation for the MCAT and I would never mislead fellow SDNers with misinformation.

As many of us anxiously await the score release to determine the next course of action (submit AMCAS or rewrite,) it seems only fair that everyone be made aware of the situation.

Also, given the nature of rolling admissions, does anyone think that this “potential” delay could handicap the applications of May 31sters?

You will only be delayed a few days, it should affect you at all. Its still early in the season as long as your app is completed. 👍

I just called and spoke to a representative named Megan. She said that the scores will not be released today; it will be some time next week. She could not give me a date. I repeated "So you're sure that they won't come out today?" She said "Yes." I guess that looks pretty final. 🙁

I wouldn't sweat it. The potential delay will most likely just be an annoyance. As Mushy said, it shouldn't make any significant impact, especially if you have things set to go.

To my knowledge, you can engage in conjecture as long as you don't claim it to be fact in any way. Tensions are fairly high, so exercise care.

Hey y'all, I too got a little freaked out when reading about the delay so I gave aamc a call. Well, I haven't posted much on this forum so I know that I do not have alot of credibility with my information, nonetheless, here goes.

I just got off the phone with an aamc representative, Megan, and she said that the scores are going to be released some time after 5pm TODAY.🙂 And to spread the word. Mind you, a part of me was content with the fact that my fate would be delayed a little for better or worse, but, whatever.

edit: I called the aamc again after the above post and also talked to Megan. She said that they had just recieved an update saying that the scores were going to be released TODAY! So hopefully that's the truth and we'll all get to see our wonderful scores today! Good Luck!

Yeah, I understand what you mean. This whole application process is a long and arduous one, filled with lots of...you guessed it: waiting. I think that's one of the most difficult parts of the whole thing. Anyway, it's just the beginning. There's lots more of waiting to come.

My humble opinion is that the best approach when you aren't sure is to just let go of trying to figure it out and let go of anticipation, as hard it might be. Move on with what needs to be done in the meantime. Before you know it, the thing you were expecting will be here. Focusing on what you don't have control over tends to be frustrating, in my opinion. 😉

it's been 37 FRICKEN DAYS already and you STILL don't want to release scores until "sometime next week" ????? or so says one employee. yet another will say they're coming out today for sure. why aren't you all on the same page?

secondly it's been 10, YES 10 business days including the holiday and you STILL can't send me an email saying you recieved my transcripts? I KNOW YOU HAVE THEM. you got them june 21st. today is july 6th. i sent transcripts to aacomas AFTER this one, and they got all 4. yes. without rush service either. so what is your deal??

please get your **** together. get organized, don't make promises of score releases that you cannot keep, and for the love of all things holy KEEP US UPDATED SOMEHOW. post the news on your website - seriously, that is NOT asking too much of you - that way you won't have to allocate so many of your staff members to field the numerous calls from premeds who are just trying to figure out exactly what the hell is going on, and thus use your workforce more effectively to GET US SOME SCORES (and transcripts).

Well guys (hangs head)...I guess I'm somewhat surprised and happy I guess....

I never scored higher than a 36 on the practice tests and I am shocked to say that I got a 40S on the MCAT. I can't believe it. Well, so I guess it can happen to you too! I only took a few classes since I'm working full time on another job (u know...have to pay the bills and all), so I just did the Kaplan tests online. Well, seemed to work for me. Good luck all!!!
