Just a thread to see where everyone stands now that we're just about to get our scores and join the rest...have you submitted AMCAS? Filled out secondaries? Received screened secondaries? Interviews? Post it!!
 
Not yet verified by AMCAS, but I have completed the secondary for Mississippi. They also asked me to print and mail the applicant's copy of my application (which I have already done) and my MCAT scores once they are available.
 
I should post also...

AMCAS verified, 24 secondaries done (CA applicant), haven't received any screened secondaries yet, two good dreams about score and admissions.

took august mcat...submitted july 1 as a reapplicant (1st mcat = 24, 2 interviews last year)...have filled out 13 secondaries this year including screened ones from OHSU, UHawaii, and UCSF....no interviews yet...sitting and waiting patiently :scared: hahahaha....good luck!!!!

Interviews: NONE. BIG FAT ZERO. but I suppose that's to be expected since MCAT scores aren't out yet... also I'm applying MSTP, which seems to be slower. at least, I hope these are the reasons 😉
 
i'm still waitin for my score... :scared:
but say i don't turn in my app till oct 14, will schools with deadline on oct 15 still count even if it hasn't been "amcas verified" ?
 
I don't know, but I'd go ahead and submit now. If you need to add schools later, that's OK, but it takes awhile for it to go through...

Interviews - None yet (My LOR's won't be out till early Nov 🙁 )

I'm not too spazzed out yet... MCAT score may or may not change that, but still early in the game by my time frame... Would be nice to get an interview by the end of this month though 🙂
 
Have an old MCAT score from 2003, but took aug 2005 MCAT as well.

Submitted 11 secondaries, working on 2 more, and waiting for 1 final one from a school that screens. I've received 2 out of 3 secondaries from schools that screen.

No interviews
 
i haven't submitted yet; how long should should it take to get verified! :scared: want to meet the oct 15 deadline.

MCAT score: I'm praying to God that I do ok
Interviews: Nada (my LORs won't be out until early Nov. 🙁 )


I have been so unlucky with my LORs. Even though I started collecting them in the spring, one professor took 7 month, another letter was lost in the mail 🙄 , and that same professor left for the summer without resending it. I asked another one instead, who's been writing it since July and just submitted it yesterday. My school takes 4 - 5 weeks writing the composite letter.

I took the August MCAT but haven't submitted my AMCAS yet. I am going to do it on the 14th if I think my scores are good enough to get into MSTP. I am going to only apply to eight schools 😛 as I those are the only ones I want to go to. I did have my transcript sent in already to AMCAS though. Does anyone know how long it takes to be verifed once they have your transcript? Do you think that even if you apply on the 14th they'll say that it was too late to be verified? 😕
 
let's see.

i was AMCAS verified late june. all LORs in already.

i received all 24 secondaries, and made it past a lot of screens for the VA schools.

im basically just waiting.

"All deadlines are set by the individual medical schools for each of their program types and represent when materials must be received by AMCAS. Submit materials as soon as possible to avoid processing delays and missed deadlines. Materials received during peak periods may take considerably longer to process. Furthermore, processing does not begin until AMCAS receives all required official transcripts and the completed application. Official transcripts for regular applicants must be received within 14 calendar days after the application deadline. Materials that are returned for correction do not satisfy deadline requirements. "

I interpret this as, Oct. 15 deadline = you press submit on the AMCAS website by Oct. 15 and transcripts are there at the latest by 2 weeks from the 15th. This means you might not be verified until December, and still have met the Oct. 15 deadline. As to the 'submit materials ASAP to avoid delays and missed deadlines', no idea what they mean there by missed deadlines. also no idea what they mean by processing delays. I submitted AMCAS early this October and processing took 4 days. And I've gone to a gazzillion schools, so it wasn't really a walk in the park for them to process.

BU, Columbia, Pritzker, Duke, Stanford, Cornell, NYU, WashU.

Obligatory whining: Columbia's secondary is a bit of a pain
but BU's secondary is beautiful.
 
I submitted AMCAS on Oct 3... not yet verified. Already have 3 secondaries to work on.

dbhvt, I know Pritzker sends its secondary to everyone.

My committee letter isn't in yet; the head of the committee/health professions advisor has been moving offices, but she'll be getting it out this week.

I just realized I never posted my 'interesting story'. man my memory's shot.

but here it is: So I submitted my AMCAS application at the end of June, and spent all of July in Mexico. Over July, I received a few secondaries via email, but nothing from Northwestern. the day after I get home I get a letter from Northwestern saying 'we're sorry but you haven't been selected to continue with the next round of applications' or something like that.

I'm of course, totally bummed, and had a hard time getting started on my other secondaries. didn't help that I was taking the MCATs in August, so I knew I wouldn't be complete for awhile no matter how early I submitted the secondaries. but anyway. I mope for a week, after which I get ANOTHER letter from Northwestern, saying 'we've received your application and would like to invite you to submit our secondary application, etc'.

!!!!

so I email the admissions office and ask WHICH letter I should believe, and they take 3 days to get back to me (i just hate phone calls, or I would've called instead). finally, they email me: 'we're sorry, but we sent you the wrong letter. We would like to invite you to continue with the secondary application'.... *cue big sigh of relief*

I say they'd better accept me now, given the emotional stress they put me through ;P

ok so maybe it's not that interesting, but it sure was stressful 😉
 
stherling, that's messed up. Northwestern gets a 👎 for that. Thankfully, it was only in regards to a secondary. Let's hope they don't do that to you with their acceptance letter!

Didn't read the entire post, but for those of you on the west coast, would our MCAT scorese be available on Thursday Oct 13 at 9 pm?

All scores come out the same time, so if scores are released at midnight EST(this is not certain yet), we would have them here on the West at 9pm.
