Who's Eligible

Offer available to all active and reserve commissioned officers, non-commissioned officers, and junior enlisted of the United States or Canadian Army, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, Marines, and Public Health Service.

How Do I get the Upgrade?

If you have a .mil or .gov email address, sign in and open the verification form. Select your service branch and complete the verification link sent to that address.

If you are a veteran without access to that address, use AF.edu, or need staff assistance, contact the Private Account Help Desk. Veterans can continue to use the staff-reviewed VA letter process. Staff will explain how to submit the appropriate evidence privately.

Do not post service records, military IDs, government identification, or VA letters in a public forum.

Privacy

Verification requests are associated with your SDN account so staff can review the request and apply the appropriate badge. Submitted verification details are not displayed publicly by this workflow. Keep sensitive details in the verification form or private staff-request channel. See SDN's privacy policy for how personal information is handled.

We extend our thanks to our veterans who once served in the Armed Forces / Canadian Army / Public Health Service as either an enlisted, warrant, or commissioned officer. We understand that due to past service(s), you may no longer possess a .mil, .gov, or AF.edu account. To qualify for the upgrade, we have an additional pathway to validate your service.

As a Veteran, How Do I get the Upgrade?

  1. Send your upgrade request via the help desk
  2. Enter "Uniformed Services Membership Upgrade" in the title
  3. Login into the VA.gov website
  4. On the dashboard, select Download VA Letters
  5. Submit the Service Verification Letter document to one of the SDN staff (please redact any personal information that you do not want to share)
  6. Your account will be upgraded upon confirmation

Choose the request that fits. Start verification requests with the form; use the private Account Help Desk when staff review is needed.

Request verification
Doctor verificationSelect your profession and follow the verification steps. Some requests require staff review. Faculty or admissions verificationSubmit your institutional email and an official page showing your current role. Staff reviews your request.
