That's not THAT bad. Being a freshman, your GPA number hasn't soldified yet. Just learn from your mistakes this year and use that (along with working your tail off) to do better from here on out. If you pulled mostly A's and some B's from here on out I think you'd still be fine.

Just curious, but why only one semester of each science? Were they upper level courses?

If you are having trouble understanding the material, there are usually numerous tutoring centers and individual tutors available at most colleges. Also, talk to your T.A. or go to your professor's office hours, they will be glad to help you.

It's not disatrous, the only bad thing is that you have C's in 3 med school pre-requisites. Just start working your butt off and make sure you take bio-chem to show those adcom committees that you are determined to master the material despite earlier trouble in bio.
Good Luck

Ever think of finding a career in computer science or economics? What about English or History?

I'm not trying to sound rude either. It's a honest question.

Second that. If you're just finishing your freshman year, you should consider career options based on what subjects you like and do well in. I am not saying that your situation is irreparable, or that pre-med reqs have very much to do with medicine per se, but the work only gets harder from now on, and you have to think about whether you will be able to pull it off and whether it will be worth it.

why are there so many damn freshman on SDN (all of a sudden too...)??😕

get off SDN or ur gpa will slump even lower, trust me (us)

I second that. One thing you will discover is that most people on SDN do not want you to succeed. I mean, if you or anyone else succeeds, what separates you from them? It's elitism at its best. I stayed off SDN for the most part (hence my low post count) and managed to do great my freshmen year.

Asking your competitors what you should do to take their spot is not wise.
