First off, congratulations to all those who received interviews at ASDOH, sounds like a great institution with a great philosophy.
Now, my problem... They post national stats, which are less than the majority of dental schools around the nation. They are private, so many OOS students apply around nation. It seems that have rejected more students than any other school in the nation. Sorry for repeating nation so much. I had no idea that they harped on volunteer work and community leadership, and it seems that many others didn't either. I just feel like a lot of people apply here because their numbers fit and they feel like they can get an interview, when that is absolutely not the case. ASDOH is incredibly selective. I just realize now that I never stood a chance with them and woul have loved to save the money apply somewhere else. In conclusion, I think ASDOH should make it nationally known that their lower stats are not an indication of their inability to get students, but rather a choice to look beyond stats and into personal character and leadership. Maybe I am ignorant and did not do enough research, but I just know I am not alone here....
Not necessarily bitter about rejection, but bitter about wasting time and money on application.
Anybody feel the same or different??
