Chicago Programs / Step I Cutoffs

I know www.residency.info has some information on cutoffs, but if that is good/reliable info I can't say.

I can only speak to the two most competitive programs, university of chicago and northwestern, two excellent children's hospitals and reputations. one advantage to u of c is a brand spankin new children's hospital that is beautiful. a lot of people prefer the area that northwestern is in, being a more singles-friendly/hipper area of chicago, but hyde park is cool too. academically, they are both great and with great specialty departments. Northwestern is slightly larger of a program. hope this helps!

I know that Lutheran General and Hope (Christ) are not as competitive to get in. They are both family friendly programs, less cut throat than Northwestern, and great places for learning. (Hope is the teaching hospital for the CCOM med students for their peds rotations, and I am not sure if LG has a specific agreement with a school, but when I was there, med students were all over the place).

Rush is supposed to be a great program but not as competitive as UC and NWU.

Northwestern is a very competitive school. I was told it was useless (from a doc in the community) to apply as a DO student. I know you can't apply to UC if you didn't pass your boards the first time around, (posted on website), but I know it's not as competitive as UC.

Sorry to diverge, but does anyone know of the cutoff info for programs in cali, especially ucsf, stanford, ucla, CHLA, and CH oakland? Didnt get a lot of response in the other thread.
