Please stop posting NBME questions. This is a copyright violation and against the Terms of Service at SDN. I know that everyone is stressed, but I promise that Step 1 will end, most of you will be happy with your score, and that next year will be much, much better.

As much as I'll comply with the rule, the only question I have is how this is different than a group of friends sitting around after an exam and talking about the questions? The written word on an online forum is just a new medium for the spoken conversation.

It's a private forum so the rules are rules, but I agree with Tiger26.

It seems like paraphrasing something isn't that big of a deal legally (for instance, Goljan paraphrases too many questions to count in his lectures) and that was for Kaplan so if NBME could sue anyone you would think it would be him. But maybe that is because he got the info second hand? I'm not sure. The thing that bothers me is when people post the topic of the question in the subject. I mean, by the time you take an NBME, you could be prepared for 10 questions just from reading this board and it's no longer an accurate assessment.

Agreed. I like when people post the word "spoiler" in the title - so I know not to look.

The written word is copyrighted (at least in this case).

It's not exactly a rule so much as law.

Think of it like this: you can smoke weed in your house and if no one sees you, you probably won't get caught but that doesn't make it any less illegal. If you go stand on the street corner smoking weed, you're going to get caught.
